On Monday, July 19, the crown prince of Dubai announced that the kingdom would use the metaverse to create more than 40,000 “virtual jobs” and $4 billion into the economy over the next five years.
In a latest tweet by Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, he revealed his intention to increase the number of blockchain and metaverse companies by 5 times in the country.
“We launched the ‘Metaverse Dubai Strategy’ today to focus on developing new technologies. Dubai is home to over a thousand companies in the metaverse and blockchain sectors, contributing more than $500 million to our economy,” said the crown prince.
This program will promote 3 categories: increasing the contribution of the metaverse to the economy, facilitating development to attract companies and projects from abroad, and applying the features of the metaverse to operations Dubai government.
