On September 5, LG Electronics, a Korean TV manufacturer, deployed the NFT platform with the help of the Hedera blockchain.

According to the official announcement, the NFT platform is called LG Art Labs, allowing users to buy, sell and view the NFT collection on their TV.

LG is not the first major player to enter the NFT market. In June, Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer rolled out a new tool that allows users to view the NFT on a smartwatch face.

Currently, LG Art Lab is available in the US with TVs using webOS 5.0. Users can discover artists’ information and track their upcoming work with a countdown to the release of the new NFT set.

Hedera will provide the platform for the new app with transactions made through Wallypto, LG’s crypto wallet.

“We will take the NFT out of the computer range and be on display anywhere in the owner’s home,” said Christian Hasker, CMO of Hedera.

Previously, on August 30, LGU +, Korea’s largest telecommunications company under LG Group, announced the launch of a new NFT version next month. This shows the great strides made by Korean corporations into the crypto and blockchain fields.
